Bi-Weekly Hikes!

Posted by: admin | Posted on: Sep 18, 2010 | Comments (3)

Looking to get outside? Join us for our biweekly Sunday day hikes! Led by our staff, the hikes are a great opportunity to explore the outdoors with other Nature’s Closet customers! Our next hike is Sunday, December 5th. Meet at 11AM at Nature’s Closet to carpool to a local trail head.  Hope to see you there!

12/5 Our hike this Sunday will follow the Stony Ledge and Roaring Brook Trails along with a section on Sperry Rd.  Along the way we will enjoy the fantastic view from Stony Ledge overlooking the Hopper.  We may also take a side trip to Deer Hill Falls.  This strenuous hike of 5.1 miles will take 3 – 3.5 hours.  Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring a raincoat, extra clothing, snacks, and a water bottle.

11/21 Our hike this Sunday will follow the Chestnut, Class of 98, Appalachian, and Pine Cobble Trails.  Along the way, we will take a side trip to some beautiful quartzite cliffs, investigate a rare Pitch Pine community on the summit of East Mt, and take in the fantastic views from the Pine Cobble.  This somewhat strenuous hike of 3.9 miles will take 2.5 – 3 hours.  Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring a raincoat, extra clothing, snacks, and a water bottle.

11/7 – We’ll hike the RRR Brooks trail up through ‘Flora Glen before turning off to the summit of Bee Hill.  Our return will take us through a grove of ancient maples and along the Rosenburg Ramble through the Williamstown Rural Land Foundation’s Sheep Hill property.  The hike is a moderate one and should take about 1.5 – 2 hrs from the store.  Bring sturdy shoes, a raincoat, and a water bottle.

10/24 – We’ll explore the Hoosac Range Trail, the newest trail in the Northern Berkshires.  The hike is a moderate one and should take about 1.5 – 2 hrs from the store.  Bring sturdy shoes, a raincoat, and a water bottle.
